Mission Statement

Welcome to the NYC SPIN - New York City's Software Process Improvement Network.

Established in 1996, the New York City Software Process Improvement Network (NYC SPIN) is a leadership forum founded to promote the exchange of software process improvement experiences, best practices, and ideas. The NYC SPIN's vision focuses on achieving higher levels of process maturity, software quality and mutual respect through education and awareness.

The goal of the NYC SPIN is to sustain commitment, enhance skills and support technology transition through an active program of networking, publications, recognition of excellence and mutual support.

The NYC SPIN is a professional group that is represented by more than 220 organizations and over 800 individuals. Monthly meetings provide a forum to network and exchange ideas with other IT professionals, as well as a schedule of programs, which cover a variety of software process improvement topics. Meetings are held monthly from September through May. Meeting announcements are posted on the NYC SPIN website: http://nycspin.org.

In addition to the monthly meetings, there are a number of Special Interest Groups that have their own meetings. More information about the Special Interest Groups, or SIGs, can be found below.

Membership in the NYC SPIN is free and open to anyone interested in sharing software process improvement concepts, principles and practices in information technology across all industries. Anyone interested in joining can easily do so visiting the membership section the NYC SPIN website. Companies interested in becoming sponsors can make their offer known by visiting the Sponsor section of the NYC SPIN website or by contacting the Steering Committee (below).
